Acts refers to the ever-changing state of the exhibition as works gradually unfold to become more complex and elaborate — over the course of the show, each sculptur adapt four times to create new visual landscapes each time.

This body of sculptures are constructed from slender oak pieces hinged together w brass so that the parts move with the viewer, creating an illusion of tessellation with space. For the first time in Israel’s career, his works emphasize the malleability of sculptures and proposes that sculptures are not only capable of evolution but conta endless possibilities. From architecture to geometry, the sculptures encompass a br range of influences and seem to take on a physical bodily quality. By taking place in acts, the exhibition becomes a metaphor for the gallery as a stage and the sculpture actors upon it.
